Know before you throw:
The beauty industry generates an estimated 120 billion cosmetic packages annually, most of which are not properly recycled. Instead, they end up as toxic pollution in the environment or in landfills, even when put into the recycling bin. The system is broken, but Pact, a new non profit beauty collection program + Pact Collection Bins provides a sustainable solution for hard-to-recycle packaging for makeup containers. You can now find Pact Recycling Bins in all Credo stores.

So…What's the best way to actually recycle your beauty empties?
• First, make sure your products are EMPTY + CLEAN + UNBAGGED.
• Then, here's a quick guide:

1.  What goes to… Pact Bin at Credo: 

  • Plastic bottles & jars smaller than a yogurt cup
  • All pumps
  • All caps
  • Plastic tubes
  • Lipstick or lip gloss
  • Eye & lip pencils
  • Mascara tubes
  • Plastic compacts
  • Colored glass bottles & jars

  • Larger plastic bottles and jars #1, 2 and 5
  • Metal jars, bottles & compacts
